Stop the Bleeding: How to Evaluate Website Projects with Confidence
Most projects fail before the first line of code is written. Here’s the 1-hour guide to discovery I shared at WordPress Chiang Mai.
Why most website projects go off the rails.
I’ve spent 10+ years at Ace Marketing Solutions Thailand managing digital transformations. If there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s that “Scope Creep” is a symptom, not the disease. The real disease is poor discovery.
In May 2025, I stood in front of the WordPress Chiang Mai community to share a repeatable approach to project evaluation.
The Discovery Blueprint
We focused on three core pillars:
- The ‘Why’ vs. The ‘What’: Clients often ask for a “new booking engine.” What they actually need is a 15% increase in direct revenue.
- Technical Feasibility: Can the current legacy stack handle the integration?
- The ROI Calculation: If the project costs X, does it save 2X in manual labor or earn 3X in new leads?
If you can’t answer these three questions with data, you shouldn’t be signing the contract.
The Lesson: Confidence comes from having a system. Don’t guess; architect.
