I attended Cybersec Asia 2025 on 23-33 January, 2025 at the QSNCC, Bangkok, Thailand.
This was a well organized event for security professionals to network and discuss high-level, bleeding edge cybersecurity topics. It was especially good to connect in-person with some of the platforms which I use such as HackerOne and Cloudflare, and also to connect and learn with new platforms/organisations/security minds such as The IO Foundation.
My favourite talk was Inside the Mind of a Hacker – Unveiling the Risks of Identity-Based Cyber Attacks delivered by Joseph Carson , Chief Security Scientist & Advisory CISO Delinea.
Another interesting, but perhaps less directly security focused was From Protocols to Protection: How Standards Secure our Digital World delivered by Jean F. Queralt, Founder & CEO The IO Foundation.
I also attended the The Pentest Roadmap: Steps to Identify and Eliminate Cyber Threats by Vinod Senthil, Cyber Security Expert Ultimate Cyber Technology Co., Ltd.
This was a 3 hour workshop for penetration testing which covered various foundational and some more advanced aspects. At the end there was a workshop quiz where I finished second out of around 22 workshop attendees.
The next Cybersec Asia is at the same venue on 04 – 05 February 2026, and after gaining some valuable knowledge/ connections I may plan to attend once again if I am free.
